NIHR Research Activity League Table

As described by the National Institute for Health Research, "Each year, the Research Activity League Table is published by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Clinical Research Network (CRN), to detail research activity across all NHS trusts in England. The table provides a picture of how much clinical research is happening, where, in what types of trusts, and involving how many patients."

How commissioners use research evidence - a new research highlight

The National Institute for Health Research Dissemination Centre has published a new highlight focusing on the use of research evidence in commissioning. It says:
"This highlight includes studies into the behaviour of individual managers and the way in which commissioning organisations make sense of and use research information when making decisions. The findings provide some practical pointers for researchers to make their work more accessible and relevant to commissioners and managers."

New National Standards for Public Involvement in Research launched

The aim of the standards is to improve the quality and consistency of public involvement (PI) in research.
Next steps: from April 2018 to April 2019, the next stage in developing the standards is to make sure that they work in practice.
