World Antimicrobial Awareness Week (WAAW)

25th November 2022

World Antimicrobial Awareness Week (WAAW) and European Antibiotic Awareness Day (EAAD) guidance and resources are available online. WAAW is celebrated from 18th-24th November every year. This year's theme is Preventing Antimicrobial Resistance Together. The NIHR shares information about tackling antimicrobial resistance on its website.

In this blog Dr Tasneem Khan shares information about antimicrobial stewardship and the Lowering AntiMicrobial Prescribing (LAMP) campaign.

A new video about antibiotic resistance has been developed in partnership with the NHS West Yorkshire ICB. The video outlines what people can do to make sure antibiotics keep working for everyone, and it is hoped this message will be shared widely.

You can follow #WAAW2022 on Twitter for the latest World Antimicrobial Awareness Week posts and updates.
